Nonna's Euro-American Ristorante & Bar - Bricktown - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
 |

In the beginning was an idea, a vision if you will, of a wonderful
shopping experience. This gallery was to be filled with so many choices
of merchandise; an environment exclusive in its setting, and in the pure
pleasure of enjoying quiet time and special moments, with attention to
each and every detail. Painted Door opened on a beautiful Fall morning
September 19, 1991, on Western Avenue in Oklahoma City with 4,000 sq.
ft. of retail space and approximately 5 employees. Offerings included
antiques, decorative accessories, home furnishings, gourmet food items,
bath and body care, infant and toddler accessories, home fragrances and
collectibles including Department 56 lighted villages and Byers
Carolers. This list could go on and on!
Through the years two new additions gave extra footage for gifts as well
as, two specialty boutiques (Painted Paper which included a wide variety
of rubber stamps and Joyce Lucille’s specialty clothing) and also the
beginning of Nonna’s. As Nonna’s grew, Joyce Lucille’s was relocated
from one area in our building to another and to this day we still carry
specialty clothing reminiscent to the Joyce Lucille era.
In early Spring 2005, both Nonna’s and Painted Door moved to a Bricktown
facility located on the southwest corner of Sheridan Avenue and Mickey
Mantle Drive in a 90+ year old warehouse with approximately 22,000 sq.
ft. Most of the employees from both Painted Door and Nonna’s operations
on Western continue to be a part of the new Bricktown project.
Nonna’s in Bricktown served its first customer on Friday, February 11,
2005. Painted Door in Bricktown began business on Tuesday, March 15,
2005. And...Painted Door opened an additional location in the
newly renovated Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City, on
February 26, 2007.
